Welcome to our home on the Web. We hope you have a good visit and enjoy learning more about our operation. We also want to invite you to stop by if you are ever passing through our part of the country. Whether you are interested in our bulls and females available privately, attending our annual sale, or just want to visit, you are always welcome.

About us... located in the southwest corner of Missouri, on the Oklahoma border, 2S Angus is a family owned and operated registered Black Angus seedstock operation. After developing a commercial herd in the 1980s we made the move to registered Black Angus in 1992. Charles Schooler (1929-1999), co-founder of 2S Angus, appreciated not only the superior beef quality and performance of the Angus cattle but also the data the American Angus Association was providing to enable continuous improvement.

Through a process of utilizing this data carefully, meticulous record keeping with Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR) to follow performance, setting high standards for replacement females, establishing a comprehensive artificial insemination (AI) program, and investing in some of the best genetics the breed had to offer we built the foundation of our herd through the 1990s. We added featured females from some of the top Angus operations in the Midwest including, Circle A and Sydenstricker's in Missouri, Express Ranches in Oklahoma, and Dalebanks in Kansas. The influence of these outstanding foundation females continue to run through our herd today. In more recent years we've added females from top programs such a Boyd Beef Cattle and Davis on the Highlands in Kentucky, LaGrand in South Dakota, and Gallagher's in New York.

We now have cattle backed with generations of proven performance and carcass evaluation. Cattle that perform well in the hot and cold weather conditions of the Midwest and perform well on fescue and native grasses of the Midwest.

In 2001 we started our embryo transfer (ET) program, allowing us to offer a higher percentage of progeny each year from the females at the top of our program.

However, through years of progress since 1992, our breeding philosophy has not changed. We continue to be driven by two principles, 1) there is no substitute for quality, and 2) good cattle must have balance and be strong in all economically important traits. Our breeding program emphasizes fertility, moderate calving-ease, high growth, carcass quality, and maternal ability, in cattle with a sound phenotype and good disposition.

We also take tremendous pride in customer satisfaction. We truly believe our clients are our partners in the beef business. Our job is to provide them with the type of bulls and females they need to make their operations more profitable in today's market and support them in any way we can. Our relationship with our clients does not end when the bull or heifer leaves our ranch.

On behalf of our entire 2S Angus family we hope you enjoy your visit to our home on the Web and we look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
